It has been an age-old quote that “Diamonds are girl’s best friends”. Surely enough, diamond jewelries are the longest lasting companions a woman will ever have. In effect, the popularity of diamond watches has grown exponentially as symbol of class, elegance and style for the lovely woman.

Diamond rings, diamond necklaces and diamond jewelries are popular gift choices for women as they do not just boast the glitter of diamonds, but display sincere affection of a lover as well. Apart from these diamond-adorned accessories, another unique, yet increasingly popular gift to give are diamond watches.

Unlike the jewelries, rings and necklaces, diamond watches are made smaller which means they have a smaller number of diamond decorations, making them a more practical, but equally captivating gift.

Women’s diamond watches
are made relatively smaller to the male diamond watch. The number of diamond stones embedded in the watch face varies per watch, or per jeweler. One diamond watch may be adorned with a single diamond stone, placed in a rather significant position, like in the number twelve, or in the centre of the hands.

Other designs of a woman’s diamond watch may include several smaller diamonds kissing the face, usually taking the place of the numerals, encircling the watch. The design of the watch depends on the wearer - whether they want to be smothered with as much sparkle as they could, or opt for a subtler and more conservative piece of jewelry.

Be it a clear diamond, a colored one, a single piece or several pieces of diamonds, a diamond watch as a woman’s gift does not just convey beauty and elegance - but a sense of understanding and passion as well.

Topaz is often associated with the color blue. While blue is the most common color of topaz, it is interesting to note that this gemstone is actually found in a variety of colors including amber gold of fine cognac, light pinkish orange like peach, and some warm, earthy shades of brown. On rare occasions, it can be found in pink or even sherry red. Blue topaz is the most affordable of them all and is most frequently used in jewelry, and almost exclusively used in fashion jewelry such as silver pendants and necklaces. Light or pastel shades of pink for this gemstone are quite rare, and are only found in Pakistan and republics that once formed the Soviet Union. Soon after its discovery, the light pink stones were reserved for use by the Czars and Czarinas of Russia. Hence, fine varieties of this gemstone in colors other than blue are often known as imperial topaz. The largest known specimen can be found in the crown of the King of Portugal. Prior to close examination, most gemologists thought that this was actually a large diamond. This misconception continued for decades until experts were finally given access to the crown. They found that this stone was actually topaz. For centuries after its initial discovery, gemologists believed it to be a form of silicon dioxide or quartz. It is only in relatively recent times that they were able to discern that topaz is quite different from quartz, and is in fact, a complex of fluorine and aluminum.

Topaz is quite popular as a gemstone. As noted earlier, the blue variety is most common for fashion jewelry. Sometimes the stone is heat treated in order to intensify its color. Radiation can also be used to modify the appearance of the stone. While some changes due to heat and radiation are reversible, others are not. Stones without flaws are typically more valuable than similar sized specimens that contain inclusions and fractures. Creation of mystic or rainbow topaz is a recent creation in the field of jewelry. A specimen of white topaz is powder coated, giving the stone the ability of display a dazzling array of colors. For all practical purposes, this treatment is permanent and will not deteriorate under normal wear conditions. Blue topaz is sometimes used in combination with other gems such as rubies, peridots, and pearls. Some caution should be exercised when combining topaz and white pearl necklaces. The intensely colored blue stone may tend to overwhelm the warm glow and luster of the white pearls. In this particular application, it is best used as a wire wrapped pendant at the base of the necklace.

There are many different types of jewelry that can be worn and many of these are decorated with gemstones
. By and large the gemstones that are set in jewelry are of a treasured and semi cherished nature. They often are of a unique stone or cut. Most of the time we are presented with stones that are very popular ones like diamonds. However, recently black diamonds have begun to make their appearance in the jewelry scene. But, have yet to take off like the standard diamond.

While these black diamonds are becoming more popular due to marketing tactics they are not seen widely nor do many people conceive having black diamonds in rings. This is likely due to the fact that the black diamonds don’t have the sparkling shininess that is evident with white diamonds. We all know that most wear diamonds for the look and what others will think. As with all fancy colored diamonds the formation of black diamonds is very uncommon making this a very expensive piece of jewelry to own. This diamond comes in many shapes and sizes. This sometimes creates a challenge for people to work with and on.

Because of its uniqueness and small market share, the cost is usually much higher than the standard diamond. We all know, that in part, it goes back to supply and demand. Regardless of the cost though there are some people who like to wear these black diamonds as men’s rings. This trend is very small. This could be due to the fact that many jewelers consider these black diamonds as being imperfect stones and consequently not worth the time that it would take to cut and mold them. So if you would like to wear jewelry that has black diamonds embedded in them you will have to make inquires from reputable jewelers if they have these gemstones in stock. You may find that this could pose a challenge because many jewelers just don’t carry the stone.
